Vapefly is best known for its tanks and rebuildables with the Kriemhild sub ohm tank scoring high with Laura-ann, whilst the Brunhilde MTL RTA the follow up to the original awesome looking RTA impressed Will.

So a decent pedigree to say the least with maybe only the Jester pod kit a little less well received…maybe…
What Can We Expect From the VapeFly TGO Pod Mod?
Simplicity is the key – once you unlock the kit with your fingerprint is the obvious answer.
Great flavour too – but then I say that every time
The VapeFly TGO pod mod maxes out at 70w thanks to a 2300mah internal battery.
At the moment there’s just two mesh coils with a 0.20hm and a RBA deck to be released soon.
It comes with either a 4.5ml capacity or the 2ml TPD version and once set up looks dead easy to use.
There is airflow control – something I’ll go into more detail on later.

Biometric Fingerprint
If you have a fingerprint unlock phone then you’ll get this no worries.
In a nutshell it’s an advanced childproof lock and I guess to stop others pinching or using your device.
Not sure if it’s overkill – but it’s a thing and really does work.
OK, on first opening the box here’s what to do:
- Power device on by clicking x5 times
- Press fire button to access fingerprint screen
- You will need x2 ‘admin’ or user fingerprints
- Choose fingerprint number with + and – button
- Press fire button to begin fingerprint capture
- Repeat 6 times until green light flashes
- To add other users fingerprints press fire button and + and repeat
- To delete fingerprint press fire and –
If I’m honest it was a little fiddly the first few times I tried – but once you get the process it works very well indeed.
A quick word about ‘communication mode’.
This overrides the fingerprint lock and can be accessed by hitting the fire button x3 quickly.
This allows the user 24 hours of access…useful if you lose a finger or two I guess…
VapeFly TGO Pod Mod Quick Start Guide
Once you’ve set your two admin fingerprints you’re good to go.
- The chip automatically sets the wattage for the coils, however you can change that manually via the + and – button.
- To enter ‘quick power adjustment mode’ hold + or – button – this will automatically go to the max or minimum wattage.
- To lock in your chosen wattage hold the + and – buttons together.
- To change airflow use the oversized dial.
- To replace coil push and pull from the bottom of the pod.
- To fill device push arrow next to the mouthpiece and push nozzle into the pod.
- Vape using the fire button.
- Device locks after 3 minutes of being idle
BTW the user guide inside the box is very clear
Key Features
Aside from the fingerprint lock and unlock method, the VapeFly TGO pod mod is exactly that – a pod kit.
It’s powered by a 2300mAh internal battery and maxes out at 70w and outputs up to 4.2v.
At the moment there’s just two mesh coils – 0.3ohm max 30 to 40w and a 0.6ohm at 20 to 28w, there are plans to release a 0.20hm coil and an RBA deck soon.
For those that like the excellent SMOK RPM coils, these are compatible and I guess vice versa
The pod is top fill and has a generous 4.5ml juice capacity – more on the fill method later.
Design and Build Quality
It’s actually quite a heavy, solid well built device that is a curious design cross between a pod kit an AIO and vape mod.
As you can see from the photos, it really is unique to look at.
The oversized fire/fingerprint button and then the huge airflow control with the off centre extended mouthpiece does actually grow on you.
The pod snaps in and out nicely and strong magnets keep it from moving about.
I love the screen – it’s crystal clear and matches the colour you choose with all the info you could want including a puff counter and of course battery level indicator.
There are 7 colors to choose from and the styling for some reason reminds me of a retro sports or racing car – really quite smart especially that black and red.
There’s a Type-C fast charge and mine went from flat to full power in just under 45 minutes.
How Does the VapeFly TGO Pod Mod Perform?
Once you get past the fingerprint set-up you’ll need to pop in your coil.
It’s a dead simple mater of pushing it into the base of the pod making sure of course it’s in tight!
You can fill the pod on the device or off – I found the first few times taking it off was the answer.
Out of the box the push to open the fill port is very tight indeed.
Just follow the arrow next to the mouthpiece and push quite firmly opening up the fill port.
I’ve filled this pod 6 times now and it’s slowly loosening up – but still needs a fair bit of effort – no leaks so far though!
VapeFly TGO Pod Mod – Flavour and Clouds
I’ve used a couple of nicotine salt flavours from the delicious SuperGood Cocktail vape juice range for the taste tests.
The coils suggested to me this is a direct to lung and MTL pod – however Vapefly recommends the correct e-liquid for each coil.
- 3ohm coil up to 10mg
- 6ohm coil up to 20mg.
Let’s take a look at each of the supplied coils…
Remember.. you can also use SMOK RPM coils in this pod too..
VapeFly TGO Pod Mod – 0.6ohm Mesh Coil
The pod mod automatically picked up I should be vaping this one at 28w – who am I to argue!
First vape with the airflow wide open and this is one airy MTL vape to say the least.
Indeed I found myself getting a pretty good lung hit – but with nic salts that did have my head spinning pretty quickly lol.
Airflow turned right down and that was much more of a restricted hit – on a scale of 1:10 with ten being too tight – I was getting a decent 8…so yeah it’s tight.
As to the flavour..?
Wow is the word…crisp fruity notes to the fore with plenty of clouds even with that airflow shut off.
Little if any difference between wide open and tight shut when it comes to flavour too though both coils are a little on the cool side of warm.
Impressive.
VapeFly TGO Pod Mod – 0.3ohm Mesh Coil
The chip set the vape at 35w and again I went with it.
Again fully open airflow meant there was far too much air – but again the flavour held strong.
Turned right down and if anything the flavour off this coil was slightly more intense with decent clouds too.
I actually pushed the wattage up on this one to 50w and with a spare coil added a 70/30 VG PG mix.
The first few hits were really decent sub ohm with clouds to match.
However by around six draws I could instinctively feel it might begin to struggle – so yeah nic salts or 50/50 juices are best I reckon.
VapeFly TGO Pod Mod – Airflow
As I mentioned earlier, the airflow control is very oversized for the size and shape of the mod.
I also think there’s maybe a touch too much – and that’s coming from someone that prefers an airy vape.
Given the low wattage coils I’m not quite sure why there was a need for something so big – but hey it’s a minor point, especially as even wide open the flavours hold their own.
Maybe the forthcoming 0.2ohm coil and RBA deck will need more air…
