About: How to Recycle Disposable Vapes Properly.

Disposable vape, which are also known as single-use vape kits, have changed the way of vaping and offer smokers a new solution to quitting smoking. However, as a device containing nic, lithium batteries and other materials, disposable vapes are hard to be classified thus more difficult to recycle properly. And nic, the vital essence of a vape is also an obstacle. Some organizations refuse to collect waste with nic. As a result, we need to figure out how to recycle the used disposable vapes properly.

1. Can I Throw a Disposable Vape in the Bin

No. It is not advisable to throw disposable vapes in the regular rubbish bins. A disposable vape is mainly composed of a lithium battery, a coil and a tank with pre-filled vape juice. Each part shall be handled appropriately and the reasons are as follows:

(1) Lithium Battery

Despite its high capacity and relatively low price, lithium can do irreversible damage to the soil. One study by the University of Minnesota found that lithium battery material can harm key soil microorganisms. On the contrary, Recycling lithium can not only prevent soil and water contamination but also conserve valuable resources.

(2) Coils

Vape coils in disposable vapes have a relatively short lifespan and will be worn out fast. However, they remain recyclable. The only wasted part is the cotton or wicking which has been soaked in the juice and burnt out.

(3) E-juice Tank

Most e-juice tanks are made of plastic, which is a kind of material derived from petrochemicals. And these petrochemicals come from petroleum or natural gas, which has caused wars and blood all the time, seized by dictators and aristocrats. But keep wasting this treasure by putting disposable vapes in the bin and sending them to landfill.

2. Should I stop using disposable vapes?

Undeniably, disposable kits are prominent in attracting smokers and encouraging them to get rid of cigarettes in the end. However, the depleted single-use kits take up the vast majority of the waste of vaping. Long-term vaping with disposable pods is neither reasonable nor economical. You had better move on and try other vape kits that produce less waste and are eco-friendly.

3. How to Recycle Disposable Vape Properly
(1) Wear a new pair of nitrile gloves to protect you from cutting or harmful residue.

(2) Put all the confiscated parts into a sealed container or bag. To put it simply, put your used disposable vapes and shards inside a container.

4. Use Disposable Vapes with High Puff Count
Usually, vapers may prefer disposable vapes with lower puff counts to try new flavors. These vapes with about 3000 puffs run out faster than usual, which gives rise to more waste. In order to reduce the amount of waste and enjoy prolonged vaping, disposable vapes with up 7000 puffs or more are an ideal choice.

Vaping is a healthier alternative to smoking but we do need to care about the health of our planet. Only irresponsible vapers don't give two hoots about the health of all.
